Three directions to read against each other before we lock the homepage. The baseline keeps the calm cream surface today's store already uses. The other two move onto the brand's deeper orange and ink-dark palettes, with shorter heroes so the seven categories surface above the fold. Every direction is fully responsive (tablet and mobile tested), passes WCAG AA contrast, and uses only Pepperell typography and color.
The baseline. Cream background, restrained orange accents, four-slide product mosaic hero with rotating bestseller card. Cream-on-cream, gallery-style. Where most heritage craft sites already live.
Combines v7's section rhythm with v2's orange takeover, but the right side carries v1's 4-slide rotating carousel plus two bento side tiles. Compact top padding keeps the whole hero above the fold; categories surface immediately below.
Three horizontal rows of product cards auto-scroll at different speeds in alternating directions. A glassy ink card sits centered with the headline, CTAs, and trust meta. Edge fade-mask softens the rows into the background. The most motion of the three.
Building-block swatches that test specific design decisions before they ship to the homepage. Each swatch toggles between proposals so we can compare them against the same live copy.
Seven tiles cover the full active catalog. Each tile is a Shopify smart collection: it picks up every product whose tags match the tile's rule, automatically. A handful of products live in two tiles at once where it helps, for example a paracord bracelet listed in both Cords & lacing and Decor, toys & finished pieces.
Sub-tile lists are based on the canonical sub-categories already on the live test store. Counts come from the catalog file shown below.
Every active SKU on the test store. Filter by category or search by title or material. Click any card to open the live product page on pepperellcrafts.com in a new tab.
Some products live in two tiles at once, so the tab counts sum to slightly more than 273.
